The New Zealand Centre for Gifted Education provides nationwide support for gifted children aged 2-13. We are the only organisation in New Zealand to do this. Over the last 25 years, we’ve nurtured the talents of thousands of gifted children, and given expert support to their parents and teachers.
Currently, over 700 children from over 280 schools are enrolled in our MindPlus family of programmes, accessing the specialised support they need to thrive, face-to-face and online.
The New Zealand Centre for Gifted Education was born in May 2014 from the merger of two pioneering organisations: the Gifted Education Centre (GEC) and Gifted Kids Programme (GKP). We carry in our DNA the aspirations and contributions of those organisations' founders, staff and whānau.
NZCGE is committed to building on and renewing the organisation's legacy in delivering cutting-edge curriculum for gifted learners and meeting the needs of these learners from all cultural and socio-economic backgrounds in Aotearoa New Zealand.
Our Board guides, challenges and supports us to go further and faster towards ensuring that all gifted kids in Aotearoa can achieve their potential, as well as ensuring we comply with the strictest health and safety, legal and financial standards.
